Our church’s data, your rights

The church records and data in this app belong to and are maintained by Dearing Christian Church, under local congregation leadership. You keep your rights to your original posts, photos, and other content, and your legal rights over your personal information.

We use information for church activities, communication, and administration. Authorized leaders and service providers may handle information needed to operate the app. Other members can see information you share with them through the app’s visibility settings. We may disclose information when legally required.

No marketing or profiling without consent

We will not sell or share your information for marketing, promotions, or profiling unless both you and local congregation leadership give explicit consent to that specific use. Creating an account or accepting these terms does not give that consent. Service providers may use information only to operate and support church services, not for their own marketing or profiling.

Optional text notifications have separate SMS privacy and terms policies, linked below. Their stronger restrictions on sharing mobile numbers and SMS consent still apply.

Post with care and respect

Keep messages, comments, photos, graphics, videos, and links appropriate for a church community. Do not post harassment, threats, bullying, pornography, sexually explicit or gratuitously graphic material, illegal content, spam, or knowingly false statements that harm others. Do not impersonate anyone or share someone else’s private information without permission.

You are responsible for what you post and for having permission to share it, including photos of others and children. By posting, you allow the church to store, display, and manage that content for church purposes. Keep your login private and report misuse to leadership.

Church beliefs and moderation

Local congregation leadership guides the church’s beliefs, biblical interpretations, ministry practices, and use of this app. Participation is voluntary. Access does not guarantee that every viewpoint will be published or that the church will change its teachings. Respectful questions and disagreements may be raised with leadership.

Leaders and authorized moderators may remove content or limit or end access to uphold these rules, protect people, and keep the app consistent with the church’s mission. You may ask leadership to review a moderation decision. Individual posts are not necessarily the church’s official views, and posts may appear before a moderator reviews them.

Responsibility and disagreements

To the extent allowed by law, the church, its leaders, and volunteers are not liable for claims based solely on disagreement with the church’s beliefs, biblical interpretations, or good-faith moderation. The app may have interruptions or errors; please confirm important arrangements with the church.

Nothing here excuses unlawful conduct, takes away rights that the law does not allow you to give up, or prevents you from reporting abuse, crime, or safety concerns to the appropriate authorities. You do not need church permission to make such a report.

Questions and updates

Contact the church office to ask about these terms, request a correction to your information, or discuss account removal. Some records may need to be retained for church administration or legal obligations. We will post updates here with a new date and notify users of significant changes. An update does not replace any consent required above.
